My name is Rachel Bergmann. My last name is German, as both my grandparents were born in Germany, so German culture is still very present in my father’s household even though my Oma and Opa have passed away. In my mother’s household, Saskatchewan slang and decor is very common, as the prairies are still a big part of who she is. I’ve had two very different influences that have shaped who I am.

Meanwhile, I’ve lived in Ottawa, Ontario my whole life, but I love travelling the world. I recently spend 3 weeks in Europe with my family travelling to Italy and Paris to see their art and history. While my sister enjoys impressionist and renaissance art, I love seeing more modern art, like street art, and the fashion of other countries. I also enjoy sewing and creating interesting clothing to wear. I have tried a lot of different activities outside of school- hockey for most of my life, taekwondo, army cadets, improv, and musical productions- but I always go back to writing, reading and drawing. I’m a visual learner, and I love being able to show people what’s going on in my head.
